When you sign up to become a tradesperson with NeedHelp, there are a few things to do before you can get fully started and perform all the jobs you want. The main thing to keep in mind when creating your profile is to build trust towards the client and this way encourage them to choose you as their tradesperson!
When you have signed up, you have already entered your email and your name - but before you can be approved for any jobs, you must have your ID verified.
How to verify your ID documents?
- Log in to your account
- Go to the top right corner and click on your name for the dropdown menu to appear
- Then choose “My profile”
- Click on the badge “Identity verified” and click on “Obtain this badge”
- Here you can add one of your following identity documents:
- ID card (recto and verso)
- Passport (recto)
- Driving license (recto and verso)
- Residency card (recto and verso)
To strengthen your profile further, you can also add your UTR/CRN number, DBS check, professional liability insurance, and certificates and obtain the corresponding badges.
How will clients know which jobs I can perform for them?
To showcase your abilities, there are a few things you can do:
- Fill out your skillset
- Go to “My profile”
- Click “Modify” on the right-hand side of the page
- Tick all the boxes of all the skills you have
- Create a description of yourself
- Go to “My profile”
- Click “Modify” on the right-hand side of the page
- Fill out the field below “Introduce yourself” in the middle of the page.
You can not give any personal information or company information
- Upload photos of your previous jobs/skills
- Go to “My profile”
- Click on the pen 🖍️ on the top right-hand of the page
- Uploading photos will have a positive effect on building trust between you and your future clients and showcase the work that you are proud of. If your photos contain any business information or personal information such as phone numbers, the pictures won't be accepted
- Get positive reviews from your customers
Once you start taking jobs through the platform, ensure you communicate well with your customers, execute the job properly, and remain reliable.
This will lead to satisfied customers who are likely to leave positive reviews on your profile. In the end, good reviews are one of the best ways to have a perfect profile.
How can the client know it’s me?
The next step towards building the perfect profile with NeedHelp is your profile photo. Choose and upload a photo of yourself which is clear, shows your face and enables the client to truly see who you are.
